Job Title: Access Control Operations/Project Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Access Control Operations/Project Manager to oversee a team of engineers responsible for fitting and refurbishing doors as part of a wider construction project at various UK airports in the London and Southern regions. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage work schedules, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high-quality standards are maintained.
The position is primarily day shifts (Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 17:00) with occasional night shifts for quality checks and problem resolution when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Access Control Engineers
- Prepare RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements) & Permits to Work
- Scope and cost works, producing detailed quotes
- Oversee and schedule fault resolution and maintenance work
- Provide guidance and technical support to engineers
- Generate and submit installation reports, ensuring compliance with project requirements
- Escalate issues to senior management as required
About You:
- 5-10 years' experience as an Access Control Engineer
- 2+ years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory role
- Experience working in airports or high-security environments (essential)
- Valid CSCS card (mandatory)
- SSSTS certification (mandatory)
- Strong Health & Safety knowledge (certifications preferred)
- Knowledge of intruder alarm systems, CCTV, and data installations (preferred)
- Additional qualifications such as IPAF, PASMA, or Confined Space Certification (advantageous)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Physically fit, able to pass medical assessments for tasks like working at height and airside driving
- Able to pass security clearances & DBS checks
