We are recruiting for a very well-established aerospace manufacturing company based in Chelmsford is seeking an experienced and hands-on Aerospace Paint Supervisor to lead its growing Masking Department.

The Role
As an Aerospace Paint Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operation of the Masking Department, manage a skilled team of 6 day-shift employees while coordinating with 2 night-shift staff to ensure productivity, quality, and workflow efficiency remain at the highest standards.
You will play a key role in driving team performance, solving production challenges, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the Masking Department
- Support, motivate, and develop the masking team
- Allocate workloads and manage production priorities
- Interpret engineering drawings and support team training
- Work closely with Inspection and Site Management to resolve technical queries
- Monitor productivity, quality standards, and department performance
- Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency
- Maintain masking templates and ensure correct usage
- Manage consumable stock levels within the department
- Ensure health, safety, and quality standards are consistently maintained
Experience Required as an Aerospace Paint Supervisor
- Previous masking experience within manufacturing or engineering
- Aerospace experience preferred
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on and proactive management style
- Strong communication and team leadership abilities
