Location: Stansted, Essex
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Painter to join a well established and highly respected aviation organisation. As an Aircraft Painter, you will play a key role in protecting, maintaining, and enhancing aircraft through expert surface preparation, paint application, and finishing techniques. Your work will directly contribute to aircraft appearance, protection, safety, and overall quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare aircraft surfaces through sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming
  • Mix paints, coatings, and finishing materials to precise specifications
  • Apply paint systems using specialist spray equipment
  • Carry out polishing, brightwork finishing, touch ups, and repainting activities
  • Remove existing paint and corrosion safely and efficiently
  • Re seal aircraft panels following maintenance activities
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality and aviation standards
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and material records
  • Work closely with engineers, maintenance teams, and supervisors
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety, environmental, and aviation regulations

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Aircraft Painter or Industrial Painter
  • Strong understanding of paint systems, coatings, and finishing techniques
  • Experience using spray guns and surface preparation equipment
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high quality workmanship
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and hazardous materials handling
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Aviation painting or maintenance qualifications would be advantageous
