  • Recruiting for an Assembly Operative – Fitting Shop
  • Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week, early finish Friday at 12 midday
  • Salary from £30k per annum plus overtime opportunity 

We are looking for an Assembly Operative to join our aerospace manufacturing team in Denham, near Uxbridge. The role involves assembling and testing a variety of components, from large structures to smaller sub-assemblies, cables, high-pressure hoses, and gun components.

This is a hands-on role requiring good attention to detail, ability to follow engineering drawings, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities as an Assembly Operative

  • Assemble and test sub-assemblies, gun builds, hoses, and fittings to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Carry out riveting, drilling, swaging, bonding, and pressure testing processes.
  • Inspect and quality-check work to required aerospace standards.
  • Follow Health & Safety, COSHH, and quality procedures at all times.
  • Support lean initiatives, 5S, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean working environment.

What we are looking for in an Assembly Operative

Essential:

  • Basic manufacturing/engineering background.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Familiar with H&S, quality, and COSHH regulations.
  • Basic PC skills and use of engineering hand tools.
  • Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and good communication skills.
  • Team player with ability to work independently.

Desirable:

  • SAP experience.
  • Use of drilling machines, adhesives, and riveting techniques.
  • Mechanical Apprenticeship or equivalent.
