Job Summary
An established aerospace engineering company based in Denham is seeking an Assembly Operative (Swaging) to join its manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career within the aerospace sector, contributing to high-quality, safety-critical products used worldwide.
The Role as an assembly operative ( swaging)
Working within a precision manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for a range of assembly, swaging, and inspection operations. Your work will involve the production and testing of cables, pipes, high-pressure hoses, and mechanical components in accordance with strict aerospace standards.
Your contribution will support the successful assembly of complex aerospace systems where quality, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture cables and high-pressure hoses in line with detailed process specifications
- Select specified hose diameters and cut to length using appropriate tools
- Attach specified end fittings accurately
- Apply heat-shrink material and shrink to PS417 standard
- Assemble reusable hoses using crimp machines and gauges
- Swage end fittings in accordance with process specifications
- Conduct proof load testing in line with PS1109 requirements
- Carry out assembly and inspection operations to quality standards
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Basic manufacturing or engineering background
- Understanding of Health & Safety procedures, QAIs, and COSHH regulations
- Basic knowledge of measuring equipment
- Familiarity with engineering hand tools
- SAP experience desirable, but not essential
