Job Title: Assembly Operative – Pressure Test - Swaging

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Assembly Operative to join our manufacturing team. You will undertake assembly, inspection, and testing of cables, pipes, high-pressure hoses, and gun components, ensuring all work meets strict quality, safety, and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and test detailed components using both manual and mechanical techniques (riveting, crimping, swaging).
  • Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications accurately.
  • Conduct high-pressure hose testing, including batch sampling to destruction and proof of load.
  • Manufacture and assemble cables and hoses to process specifications, including cutting, fitting, and heat shrinking.
  • Carry out self-inspections and quality checks, issuing certificates and stamps as required.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are safe and fit for purpose.
  • Support Lean initiatives, 5S activities, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, including COSHH and risk assessments.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience in assembly or manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with precision assembly, swaging, crimping, riveting, or high-pressure systems.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to use inspection tools and perform self-quality checks.
