CNC Milling / Turning Programmer – Setter – Operator
Location: Romford, RM3
Salary: £40,000 per annum + overtime

What You’ll Be Doing as a CNC Milling/Turning Programmer - Setter 

  • Develop efficient, cost-effective manufacturing processes for new and existing products
  • Create and optimise CNC programmes using CAD/CAM software (GibbsCAM preferred)
  • Perform offline programming for 3, 4 and 5 Axis CNC machines
  • Produce detailed setup sheets, tooling plans and tool definitions
  • Prove out new programmes and transition them smoothly into production
  • Select and implement appropriate cutting tools and machining strategies
  • Manage tooling, work holding, gauges and supporting production elements
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical problem-solving

What We’re Looking For in a as a CNC Milling/Turning Programmer - Setter 

  • Strong background in CNC Milling or Turning, with programming experience essential
  • Hands-on experience with 3, 4 or 5 Axis CNC machinery
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM programming (GibbsCAM highly desirable)
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
  • Solid experience within precision engineering manufacturing
  • Aerospace industry experience advantageous
  • Good understanding of NC programming and offline programming processes
  • ONC / HND in Engineering, completed apprenticeship, or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Desirable Skills

  • Experience using SOLIDWORKS
  • Background in medium to large engineering organisations
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality standards
