CNC Milling / Turning Programmer – Setter – Operator
Location: Romford, RM3
Salary: £40,000 per annum + overtime

What You’ll Be Doing as a CNC Milling/Turning Programmer - Setter
- Develop efficient, cost-effective manufacturing processes for new and existing products
- Create and optimise CNC programmes using CAD/CAM software (GibbsCAM preferred)
- Perform offline programming for 3, 4 and 5 Axis CNC machines
- Produce detailed setup sheets, tooling plans and tool definitions
- Prove out new programmes and transition them smoothly into production
- Select and implement appropriate cutting tools and machining strategies
- Manage tooling, work holding, gauges and supporting production elements
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical problem-solving
What We’re Looking For in a as a CNC Milling/Turning Programmer - Setter
- Strong background in CNC Milling or Turning, with programming experience essential
- Hands-on experience with 3, 4 or 5 Axis CNC machinery
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM programming (GibbsCAM highly desirable)
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Solid experience within precision engineering manufacturing
- Aerospace industry experience advantageous
- Good understanding of NC programming and offline programming processes
- ONC / HND in Engineering, completed apprenticeship, or equivalent experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Desirable Skills
- Experience using SOLIDWORKS
- Background in medium to large engineering organisations
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards
