Counterbalance Forklift Driver / Maintenance Operative

Salary: £27,000 – £28,000 per year + overtime

We are recruiting for a reliable and proactive Counterbalance Forklift Driver / Maintenance Operative to join a busy site in Denham. This is a varied role combining forklift operation, site maintenance and facilities support duties to help maintain a safe, clean and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a counterbalance forklift and electric vehicles safely on site
- Collect, sort and manage recyclable waste streams across the facility
- Empty bins and manage storage containers for cardboard, plastics and packaging materials
- Operate baling and compacting machinery
- Carry out safety checks on vehicles and equipment
- Assist with lifting, shifting and moving furniture or equipment
- Maintain external grounds and ensure the site remains clean and tidy
- Report hazards, unsafe practices or faulty equipment
- Support the facilities team with general housekeeping and ad-hoc duties
- Assist during adverse weather or out-of-hours site preparation when required
Requirements
Essential
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence
- Clean UK driving licence
- Health & safety awareness in an operational environment
- Experience working with machinery and handling heavy loads
- Good teamwork and communication skills
Desirable
- Knowledge of recycling and waste stream processes
- Experience operating balers or compactors
- Experience driving electric tow vehicles
