About the Commercial Operations Coordinator Role
We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Operations Coordinator to join our Commercial team based in Southend.
This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and customer-focused professional to play a key role in supporting customer relationships, commercial activity, and operational continuity within a fast-paced aviation MRO environment.
The successful candidate will act as a key point of contact for customers and suppliers, ensuring excellent service delivery, efficient communication, and effective coordination of repairs, orders, and commercial activities.
In addition to core customer support responsibilities, the role will also provide cross-functional support to the Procurement team during periods of absence or increased workload.
Commercial Operations Coordinator Key Responsibilities
- Act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for customers and suppliers
- Provide daily updates on open repairs, orders, and work status
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through effective CRM management
- Respond to customer enquiries within targeted response times
- Support departmental sales targets and identify new business opportunities
- Manage customer complaints and support quality improvement initiatives
- Coordinate with workshop engineers and relay technical information to customers
- Support contract queries, invoicing issues, and credit control activities
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and order diary notes
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency
- Support new customer enquiries alongside the New Business Development Manager
- Provide support to Purchasing and Procurement teams when required
Cross-Department Support Duties
- Assist with purchasing aircraft parts and materials
- Support Purchase Order processing and supplier management
- Monitor shipments and supplier performance
- Administer workflow through IMRO WMS systems
- Source approved parts via third-party marketplaces such as ILS and Parts145
- Manage supplier communication and non-compliance issues
Commercial Operations Coordinator Skills & Experience Required
- Previous customer service experience is essential
- Experience within aviation, MRO, procurement, or supplier management is advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident using ERP, WMS, CRM, and Microsoft Office systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive problem-solving mindset
- Strong administrative and data analysis skills
