Location: Southend on Sea, Essex
Salary: £47,500 to £55,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the development of component repair and overhaul capabilities within a busy aerospace engineering environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional looking to take ownership of technical operations, drive continuous improvement, and support the growth of an established MRO facility.

The Role

As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the engineering function supports both current operational requirements and future customer demands. Working closely with production teams, you will provide technical leadership, improve repair capabilities, and implement engineering best practices across the facility.

This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical knowledge, excellent leadership skills, and experience within an aerospace component repair environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of new component repair and overhaul capabilities.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to production teams, resolving engineering and repair related issues.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multiple disciplines to ensure efficient production.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement engineering best practices.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Support new customer requirements by developing technical capabilities and repair processes.
  • Work closely with internal departments to deliver projects on time and to the required standards.
  • Produce and maintain engineering documentation where required.
  • Undertake additional engineering duties appropriate to the role.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

  • Several years' engineering experience within an aerospace component repair or MRO environment.
  • Previous experience in an Engineering Manager, Engineering Lead or senior engineering position.
  • Experience developing repair processes and supporting overhaul operations.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace quality standards and component repair approvals.
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
