We are recruiting an experienced Fabrication Quality Control Inspector to join a well-established manufacturing business in Bishop’s Stortford.
The successful candidate will support the Quality and Inspection departments, ensuring fabricated components meet the required customer, company and industry standards. The main focus of the position will be carrying out first-off, stage and final inspections of fabricated sheet metal, welded and assembled components.

The Role
The Fabrication Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for:
- Carrying out first-off inspections of fabricated sheet metal, welded and assembled parts
- Completing stage and final inspections of manufactured components
- Ensuring products meet customer specifications and relevant industry standards
- Producing inspection reports and First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102 requirements
- Identifying, recording and reporting non-conforming products
- Supporting Material Review Board and Root Cause Corrective Action activities
- Maintaining accurate quality records using Q-Pulse
- Measuring components using verniers, micrometers and other hand-held inspection equipment
- Ensuring inspection procedures and documentation remain accurate and up to date
- Working closely with quality and production teams to maintain high manufacturing standards
- Supporting continuous improvement and quality initiatives
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area in line with 5S principles
Skills and Experience
The successful Fabrication Quality Control Inspector should have:
- Previous quality inspection experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Experience inspecting fabricated sheet metal, welded or assembled components
- Fine-limit technical inspection experience
- The ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience using verniers, micrometers and other precision measuring equipment
- Knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102 standards would be advantageous
- Experience producing First Article Inspection Reports
- Knowledge of non-conformance reporting and problem-solving techniques
- Previous experience supporting RCCA or MRB activities would be beneficial
- Good computer skills and experience using quality management systems
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A results-focused and quality-driven approach
