Field Service Engineer-Commercial Vehicles

Salary: £50k – £60k (Based on experience)

Location: Luton, Bedfordshire

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm, Friday 8 am – 3:30 pm

The client specialises in intelligent drive technology, offering reliable solutions to industrial and automotive industries.

The client serves the UK and Ireland markets, providing new build solutions and aftermarket support through spare parts supply, repair, and overhaul services, both at their workshop and on-site.

Responsibilities:

Diagnostics and Repairs

  • Perform diagnostics and repairs commercial vehicles 
  • Execute major unit exchanges
  • Report quality issues noted during tasks.

Customer Support

  • Assist OEMs as needed.
  • Support new product launches.
  • The aid sales team in promoting product performance and growth.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Minimize customer asset downtime.

Health and Safety

  • Follow all H&S and Environmental guidelines.
  • Coordinate with Health & Safety and Field Service Managers on issues.
  • Work safely and professionally per documentation.
  • Keep health & safety training up to date.

Reporting and Administration

  • Timely completion of engineering reports.
  • Manage expenses responsibly.
  • Monitor and control stock levels.
  • Conduct stock takes per annual plan.
  • Work extra hours as needed.

Training

  • Undertake product-specific training when requested.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Completed engineering apprenticeship as a minimum, level 5 qualification or higher preferred.
  • Background in field services and engineering
  • Experience with electric vehicles
  • Excellent diagnostic capabilities
  • Good IT skills

Additional Requirements

  • Full UK driving license.
