Finance Assistant to start a.s.a.p. - Permanent 

Location: Colnbrook
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (30-minute lunch)

Are you looking for your next step in finance? We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our growing team Logistics team  in Colnbrook. This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of a busy finance department, working directly with the Head of Finance to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

The Role

As a Finance Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with billing and uploading of sales invoices into Sage, ensuring correct nominal code allocation
  • Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments
  • Allocating customer and supplier receipts
  • Carrying out monthly reconciliations, including bank statements, debtors, and creditors
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Undertaking ad hoc finance duties as required

What We’re Looking For

To succeed as a Finance Assistant, you will need to demonstrate:

  • GCSEs (A–C) in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • A flexible, “can-do” attitude and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Intermediate Excel skills with a keen eye for detail

Desirable

  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar finance role
  • Experience using Sage and Microsoft Business Central
  • Previous experience within logistics, freight, or distribution
  • It would be to your advantage if you have a clean UK drivers licence, but not essential
