Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am – 5:00pm; Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
About the Financial Analyst Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join our Accounts team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in developing and supporting cost accounting systems and processes, analysing product costs, monitoring financial performance, and supporting wider accounting functions.

Financial Analyst Key Responsibilities
- Costing of purchased materials
- Reconciliation of monthly stock movements within the inventory system
- Monitoring and reviewing bills of materials and inventory movements
- Conducting cost analysis of manufacturing processes
- Analysing profit margins and supporting pricing decisions
- Assessing organisational data and labour cost rates
- Reviewing achieved hourly rates against expected performance
- Identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives to maximise profitability
- Liaising with production teams to review manufacturing performance and ensure data accuracy
- Preparing monthly and quarterly management reports
- Supporting ad-hoc financial analysis and projects
- Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and statements
- Preparing general ledger postings and account reconciliations
- Managing cashbooks, including monthly reconciliations and journal postings
- Supporting the Finance Manager and wider Accounts team as required
- Assisting with the implementation of a new ERP system
- Undertaking additional duties appropriate to the role and level of responsibility
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a manufacturing environment and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will be able to work effectively under pressure, communicate confidently with colleagues across departments, and maintain a high level of accuracy in your work.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified or part-qualified AAT
- Previous accounting experience
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organisational and time management abilities
- Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
Desirable
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management processes
- Experience supporting ERP systems or system implementations
