Fluidrive Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (Dependent on Experience)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday - Thursday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm; Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (36.5-hour workweek)
Are you a skilled engineer with a passion for intelligent drive technology and rotating equipment? We are looking for a Fluidrive Engineers to join our team on a permanent, site-based contract. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative and reliable drive systems across industries such as oil & gas, energy, mining, mechanical engineering, ship technology, rail, and commercial vehicles.
About the Role
As a Fluidrive Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and modifying manufacturing drawings, supporting technical product documentation, and collaborating with various teams to ensure smooth engineering processes. You will play a crucial role in maintaining high engineering standards and supporting both workshop and field service teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Create and revise manufacturing drawings following BS8888 standards.

Ensure accurate documentation and approval of all drawings in Team Centre.

Maintain and update technical product records, manuals, and descriptions.

Provide technical support to workshop staff and sales teams.

Evaluate and interpret customer technical requests and implement necessary design changes.

Support field service engineers and liaise with customers in the UK and overseas.

Collaborate with suppliers to enhance manufacturing, machining, and casting processes.

Support Purchasing and Quality teams in approving and qualifying new suppliers.

Work closely with international teams, including the parent company in Germany.
Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing and design functions.

Mechanical engineering qualification (minimum HND level).

Proficiency in AUTO-CAD, Siemens NX, and Team Centre.

Strong understanding of BS8888 technical documentation and engineering change management.

Experience with non-ferrous metal casting processes.

Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable approach with the ability to support junior engineers.

Knowledge of power transmissions and rotating equipment.

Commercial awareness with an understanding of engineering decisions' impact on business.

Experience with ISO 9001:2015 quality systems.

Strong technical communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

A team player with a genuine enthusiasm for mechanical engineering.
