What is expected from the Junior Construction Project Engineer
Due to continued growth, we are looking for ambitious Junior Project / Contract Managers to join a friendly and dynamic team. This role offers excellent long-term career progression within construction, highways and streetworks. You will support the delivery of projects across the UK while gaining hands-on experience alongside experienced professionals.
Travel is a key part of the role, including visits to sites nationwide such as Windsor, Warwickshire and Eastbourne etc
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of projects on time and within budget
- Assist with contract management and administration
- Attend client meetings and maintain relationships
- Carry out site visits, inspections and surveys
- Coordinate labour, plant and materials
- Support planning, scheduling and programming
- Assist with asset management and maintenance
- Maintain project records, reports and documentation
- Prepare permits, notices and statutory documentation
- Support planning applications and appeals
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery
- Ensure compliance with HSQE, HSE and CDM regulations
- Support continuous improvement across projects
What We’re Looking For
- Proactive and organised with a strong work ethic
- Experience within the construction environment
- Good communication and relationship-building skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced project environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Project
- Keen to develop and progress within the business
Qualifications & Experience required for the Junior Construction Project Engineer
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
- Qualification in construction, engineering or design preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in junior project management or contract administration
- Experience within construction, highways, civils, streetworks or outdoor advertising desirable
- Understanding of NRSWA
- Knowledge of HSE regulations and CDM 2015
- Full UK Driving Licence essential
