Working Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–5:00pm, Friday 7:30am–11:30am

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a well-established engineering and aerospace manufacturing business based in Woodside.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer with experience within a precision manufacturing environment, ideally aerospace or aviation, to play a key role in developing manufacturing methods, producing engineering planning documentation and supporting production activities.

The Role

As Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing manufacturing planning instructions from customer drawings, specifications and bills of materials.

Your duties will include:

  • Carrying out contract reviews for new and repeat orders
  • Translating customer drawings, specifications, quality standards and regulatory requirements into manufacturing methods
  • Creating Bills of Materials and manufacturing routings
  • Planning and setting out manufacturing operations
  • Creating and maintaining jobs within MRP/ERP systems
  • Entering manufacturing set and run times
  • Producing Job Travellers and compiling complete manufacturing Job Packs
  • Coordinating drawings, BOMs, process sheets and other technical documentation
  • Raising requisitions for materials and procurement requirements
  • Working closely with production supervisors and operators to establish the most effective manufacturing methods
  • Liaising with customers, Manufacturing Engineers and Design Engineers regarding technical and production issues
  • Supporting NCR and RCCA close-out activities
  • Providing engineering support during production
  • Reviewing and amending manufacturing planning documentation where required

The Candidate

The successful Manufacturing Engineer should have:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Aerospace or aviation manufacturing experience would be highly advantageous
  • A relevant engineering degree would be preferred but is not essential
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Experience creating manufacturing methods, routings or production planning documentation
  • Knowledge of Bills of Materials
  • Previous experience using MRP/ERP software would be advantageous
  • CATIA V5 knowledge would be advantageous
  • Good Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering and production teams
  • A results-focused approach with the ability to manage your own workload
