Working Hours: Monday – Wednesday, 7:00am – 5:30pm & Thursday, 7:00am – 4:30pm

About the Masker Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Masker to join our aerospace surface treatments team in Chelmsford. This role involves masking aircraft components to precise technical specifications before treatment processes are applied and de-masking them once treatments have been completed.

No previous masking experience is required as full training will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within the aerospace manufacturing and engineering sector.

Masker Key Responsibilities

  • Mask aircraft components in accordance with technical and engineering requirements.
  • Interpret engineering drawings to identify areas requiring masking.
  • De-mask aircraft components following treatment processes.
  • Ensure all work meets quality, regulatory, customer and specification requirements.
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies.
  • Assist with housekeeping and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
  • Respond to and perform clean-up procedures for chemical leakages when required.
  • Carry out other duties within your capabilities as directed by management.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Ability to read and follow technical documentation and work instructions.
  • Strong commitment to quality and safety standards.

Desirable

  • Experience working within an aerospace manufacturing or surface treatments environment.
  • Previous masking experience within paint spraying, metal finishing, coating, or similar industries.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings.
