About the Masking Supervisor Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Masking Supervisor to lead our Masking Department in Chelmsford. This is a hands-on role overseeing daily operations, supporting a small team, and ensuring high-quality standards are maintained across all masking processes.
You will manage a team of 6 day-shift employees and coordinate handovers with 2 night-shift staff, ensuring smooth workflow and consistent output.
Masking Supervisor Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the Masking Department
- Interpret engineering drawings and train team members accordingly
- Collaborate with Inspection and Site Management to resolve technical queries
- Allocate and prioritise workloads in line with Production Control requirements
- Monitor team productivity and provide regular feedback
- Identify and implement continuous improvements within the department
- Manage bottlenecks and ensure efficient workflow
- Maintain masking templates and ensure staff are trained in their use
- Monitor and maintain consumable stock levels
- Support and develop team members to achieve high performance
About You
- Previous experience in masking (aerospace preferred, but other industries considered)
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience
- Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a strong team ethic
