Mechanical Assembly Operative

We are currently recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join a busy and growing manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Assembler looking for a stable role with a well-established company near Uxbridge UB9.

Due to the remote location of the company, own transport will be essential as there are no public transport links in the area.  We do not offer sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assemble products using specified equipment, tooling, and build plans.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
• Carry out quality inspections using gauges, rulers, calipers, and measuring equipment.
• Perform self-inspection and ensure all work meets company quality standards.
• Record production, inspection, and non-conformance data using SAP.
• Complete work within allocated times to support on-time delivery.
• Maintain tools, equipment, fixtures, and gauges in good working order.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and 5S activities.
• Assist with packing, stores, part marking, and other production duties as required.

What We're Looking For:
• Previous experience as a Mechanical Assembler in a manufacturing or engineering environment.  
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Experience using hand tools, gauges, and measuring equipment.
• Basic IT skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.

Desirable:
• SAP experience.
• Knowledge of assembly, fitting, and inspection techniques.
• Experience using pressure testing or automated testing equipment.
