Mechanical Inspector
Location: Denham, Buckinghamshire

Working Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm, Friday 8:00am–12:00pm
We are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join an established engineering and manufacturing organisation in Denham.
This position would suit an experienced Mechanical Inspector, Quality Inspector or Inspection Technician with a background in manufacturing or engineering. You will be responsible for inspecting and verifying components, interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications, and ensuring products meet the required quality standards.

The Role
- Carry out testing and inspection of components using a variety of inspection processes and techniques
- Accurately interpret engineering drawings, test procedures and technical specifications
- Identify part numbers, drawing revisions, process specifications and surface finishes
- Generate and maintain accurate inspection documentation
- Use SAP to record work in progress and track component batches
- Record the location of components and parts accurately
- Record non-conforming products
- Ensure inspection equipment is checked, maintained and within calibration
- Complete work in accordance with company procedures, quality standards and production schedules
- Ensure all relevant Health & Safety requirements are followed
- Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
- Handle components and materials safely and in accordance with relevant instructions
- Liaise with the Cell Leader regarding issues or changes
- Suggest improvements to procedures and drawings where appropriate
- Support the training and development of new employees and less experienced colleagues
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous inspection experience
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good numeracy and geometry skills
- Working knowledge of GDT/GD&T (Geometrical Dimensional Tolerancing)
- Experience using inspection tools and equipment
- Experience using hand tools
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively within a production environment
- SAP experience would be advantageous
- AS9102 FAIR experience would be advantageous
- CMM experience or equivalent would be beneficial
- Aerospace experience would be desirable
Qualifications
- Good standard of education, including GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
- An engineering apprenticeship would be preferred
