Job Summary: The Powder Coater is responsible for applying powder coating to a variety of metal and aluminum surfaces. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying powder coating using spray guns, and ensuring a high-quality finish that meets industry standards and customer specifications.
This is a permanent position, working 40hrs per week, paying at £18 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:

Surface Preparation:
- Clean and prepare surfaces for powder coating by removing grease, dirt, and rust using methods such as sandblasting, washing, and chemical treatments.
- Mask and plug parts as required to protect areas from coating.

Powder Coating Application:
- Apply powder coating using electrostatic spray guns in a consistent and uniform manner.
- Adjust and control powder flow and gun settings to achieve the desired coating thickness and finish.
- Monitor and maintain proper oven temperatures and cure times to ensure quality adherence.

Quality Control:
- Inspect coated items for coverage, thickness, and consistency, ensuring they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Identify and correct any defects or issues in the coating process.
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of powder coating equipment and booths.

Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Comply with all relevant environmental and safety regulations.

Inventory and Documentation:
- Maintain inventory of powder coating materials and supplies.
- Document and report daily production activities and any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.

Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments regarding job progress and any issues that arise.
