We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager to take responsibility for the end-to-end management of customer programmes and manufacturing projects within a high-precision aerospace manufacturing environment.
This is a senior, operationally focused position involving project delivery, production planning, supply chain coordination and the leadership of a Production Control team. The successful Project Manager will ensure customer orders are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with strict aerospace quality and regulatory requirements.

The Role
The Project Manager will act as the primary contact between customers, suppliers and internal departments, coordinating all activities required to meet contractual delivery commitments.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing multiple aerospace manufacturing projects from order receipt through to final delivery
- Developing detailed project plans covering manufacturing and supply chain activities
- Establishing project milestones and monitoring progress against agreed schedules
- Identifying project risks and implementing appropriate mitigation and recovery plans
- Coordinating Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing and Logistics departments
- Ensuring materials, resources and subcontract services are aligned with project requirements
- Leading project review meetings and communicating actions to customers and internal stakeholders
- Monitoring project performance against operational and financial targets
- Leading and developing the Production Control team
- Managing production schedules, priorities, capacity and material availability
- Monitoring production progress and resolving manufacturing bottlenecks
- Driving schedule adherence, On-Time Delivery and reduced manufacturing lead times
- Managing suppliers providing machining, heat treatment, plating, painting, NDT and other specialist processes
- Using ERP and MRP systems to manage demand, materials, capacity, job progress and delivery commitments
- Leading New Product Introduction and build-to-print projects
- Ensuring drawings, specifications, routings, work instructions and quality requirements are controlled
- Maintaining compliance with AS9100, customer requirements and company quality procedures
- Supporting customer, internal and regulatory audits
- Analysing KPIs and operational data to identify improvement opportunities
- Driving continuous improvement across planning, production and delivery processes
Skills and Experience
The successful Project Manager should have:
- At least five years’ experience as a Project Manager or Programme Manager within manufacturing
- Previous experience within aerospace, defence or another highly regulated industry
- A minimum of three years’ supervisory or line management experience
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and planning tools
- Experience using ERP systems and manufacturing planning and scheduling software
- Good understanding of production processes and manufacturing environments
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial awareness, including budgets, delivery performance, costs and project changes
- The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- A results-focused and proactive approach to problem-solving
Knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace regulatory requirements would be advantageous.
PRINCE2, APM, PMP, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement or supply chain qualifications would also be beneficial.
