Salary: £13.70 – £13.91 per hour (£26,700 per annum)
Hours: Monday–Thursday 08:00–17:00 | Friday 08:00–12:00
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Transport: Own transport required
An established aerospace engineering organisation is seeking a skilled Assembly Operative to join its specialist manufacturing team based in Chalgrove. This is a hands-on role within a highly regulated production environment, working with safety-critical and explosive components. Precision, discipline, and strict adherence to safety procedures are essential. The Role
As an Assembly Operative, you will be responsible for assembling safety-critical components to exacting engineering standards, ensuring full compliance with strict quality and safety procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Safely handling explosive components in line with strict operational procedures
- Assembling parts to precise tolerances using specialised tools and equipment
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and production documentation
- Carrying out self-inspections and quality checks to ensure all standards are met
- Recording and updating production documentation using SAP systems
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a focused and detail-oriented individual who can work confidently within a controlled manufacturing environment.
Key requirements:
- Previous experience in production, assembly, or manufacturing environments
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow detailed work instructions
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Comfortable working both independently and within structured compliance environments
- Good communication skills and a stable work history (5 years preferred)
Experience within aerospace, defence, or other regulated industries would be highly advantageous.
Experience handling hazardous or safety-critical materials is also desirable.
