Pyro Inspector (4 On 4 Off Shift Pattern)

Location: Chalgrove, Oxfordshire (OX44)
Salary: £27,000 + 22.6% Shift Uplift + Excellent Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 Hours per Week During Probation
Following Successful Probation: 4 On 4 Off Shift Pattern (07:00 – 16:30)

We are recruiting for a Pyro Inspector to join a world leading aerospace manufacturer based in Chalgrove, Oxfordshire. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the production of life saving equipment used by military aircrew around the world.

Working within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for inspecting and verifying pyrotechnic components, ensuring all products meet strict quality, safety, and engineering standards.

Following completion of the probationary period, this role will move to a 4 on 4 off shift pattern working 07:00 to 16:30.

Pyro Inspector Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspection, testing, and verification of pyrotechnic components and assemblies
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection procedures
  • Use measuring and inspection equipment including verniers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments
  • Complete inspection documentation accurately and in line with quality requirements
  • Record work in progress, component locations, and inspection results using SAP
  • Identify and record non conforming products
  • Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Production Control teams

Pyro Inspector Requirements

  • Previous inspection experience within aerospace, defence, automotive, manufacturing, or engineering environments
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of dimensional inspection and tolerances
  • Experience using inspection and measuring equipment
  • Good numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office

Desirable Experience

  • Aerospace or defence industry background
  • SAP or MRP system experience
  • AS9102 FAIR experience
  • Previous pyrotechnic, explosives, or ordnance experience
  • Engineering apprenticeship or engineering qualification
