About the Quality Engineer Role
As a Quality Engineer, you’ll ensure that manufacturing operations consistently deliver products of the highest quality. You’ll collaborate with production teams, suppliers, and customers to maintain rigorous standards, solve problems proactively, and drive continuous improvement throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional quality engineering support across all manufacturing operations
- Liaise confidently with customers and suppliers on quality-related matters
- Lead and support audits, manage non-conformance investigations, and apply root-cause analysis (8D/5Why)
- Train operators in inspection techniques, quality systems, and equipment use
- Oversee calibration systems for measurement and test equipment (M&TE)
- Develop detailed inspection plans, quality control documents, and final inspection reports
- Identify and implement improvements to inspection processes and quality management systems
About You
- Minimum 5 years’ recent experience as a Quality Engineer (or in a similar technical role)
- Solid mechanical engineering background (Apprenticeship preferred)
- Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and produce accurate inspection reports
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident training others in quality or inspection processes
- Experienced in managing non-conformances, calibration, and audits
- Excellent communicator with strong project management and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- CMM programming experience (preferably PC-DMIS Level 2 or higher)
- Familiarity with Hexagon S Chrome CMMs
- ISO 9000 Auditor qualification
