About the Company
A well established engineering company near Hayes, Middlesex is seeking an experienced Senior Bid / Tender Manager to support continued growth and expansion. The business operates within manufacturing and engineering sectors, delivering high quality technical solutions to public and private sector clients across the UK and internationally.
The Role
Reporting to the Sales Director, you will take full ownership of the bid and tender function, managing the end-to-end process from pre-qualification through to final submission. You will lead and coordinate internal teams including sales, estimators and technical specialists to produce compelling, compliant and high scoring tender submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the bid writing team and coordinating responses to PQQs, ITTs, RFQs and other procurement documents
- Managing tender programmes and submission deadlines
- Reviewing, proofreading and editing proposals to ensure accuracy, clarity and quality
- Creating bespoke written content including executive summaries, cover letters and capability statements
- Ensuring submissions are commercially competitive and fully compliant with client requirements
- Preparing and submitting prequalification documentation
- Driving continuous improvement to maximise tender evaluation scores and win rates
- Maintaining and developing a library of high quality bid content
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in bid management or tender writing, ideally within engineering, construction, manufacturing or related sectors
- Strong understanding of end-to-end tender processes, particularly government and public sector procurement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at senior level
- Highly organised with strong project management capability
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines
- Self-motivated, proactive and results driven
- Degree or relevant professional qualification preferred
- Confident user of Microsoft Office and general IT systems
