About the Sheet Metal Fabrication Operator role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Fabrication Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for producing high-quality sheet metal components used in assemblies and welded structures, working to aerospace-grade quality standards (AS9100 or equivalent).
This is a hands-on role requiring accuracy, teamwork, and a strong understanding of engineering drawings and fabrication processes.
Sheet Metal Fabrication Operator Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate fabrication equipment including guillotines, bandsaws, and presses
- Manufacture and assemble precision parts from engineering drawings and templates
- Measure, mark, and check materials using a range of engineering measuring tools
- Ensure all work meets required quality and dimensional standards
- Attend daily production meetings and work as part of a team
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures at all times
- Support continuous improvement and workplace organisation initiatives
- Carry out other reasonable duties as required
Sheet Metal Fabrication Operator Requirements
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace or automotive preferred)
- Experience operating fabrication machinery
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team and meet production deadlines
- Familiarity with quality standards such as AS9100 (desirable)
