About the Sheet Metal Fabrication Operator role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Fabrication Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for producing high-quality sheet metal components used in assemblies and welded structures, working to aerospace-grade quality standards (AS9100 or equivalent).

This is a hands-on role requiring accuracy, teamwork, and a strong understanding of engineering drawings and fabrication processes.

 

Sheet Metal Fabrication Operator Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment including guillotines, bandsaws, and presses
  • Manufacture and assemble precision parts from engineering drawings and templates
  • Measure, mark, and check materials using a range of engineering measuring tools
  • Ensure all work meets required quality and dimensional standards
  • Attend daily production meetings and work as part of a team
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures at all times
  • Support continuous improvement and workplace organisation initiatives
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as required

 

Sheet Metal Fabrication Operator Requirements

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace or automotive preferred)
  • Experience operating fabrication machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and meet production deadlines
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as AS9100 (desirable)
