Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, 40 hours per week

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator to join a well-established engineering and fabrication company based in Croydon.

We are looking for someone with a strong background in fine limit and general sheet metal work who can confidently work from technical drawings and manufacture products to a high standard.

The Role

As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be involved in all aspects of sheet metal fabrication and finishing, producing high-quality components from a variety of materials.

Duties will include:

  • Reading and working accurately from technical drawings
  • Fine-limit and general sheet metal fabrication
  • Operating CNC and manual press brakes
  • Using guillotines and other sheet metal machinery
  • TIG and MIG welding
  • Grinding, dressing and finishing components to a high standard
  • Working with various metals up to approximately 6mm thickness
  • Using a range of sheet metal hand tools and fabrication equipment
  • Checking finished work to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy
  • Working effectively as part of the wider production team

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Sheet Metal Worker, Sheet Metal Fabricator or similar
  • Proven experience within fine limit sheet metal work
  • Ability to read and understand technical/engineering drawings
  • Experience operating CNC and/or manual press brakes
  • TIG and MIG welding experience
  • Experience with guillotines, grinding and finishing
  • Ability to work with different metals up to approximately 6mm
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to produce finished components to a very high standard
  • CAD knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Reliable, organised and methodical approach to work
