About the Shipping and Customs Administrator (SCA) role:
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Shipping and Customs Administrator (SCA) to join our Materials team based at Stansted Airport.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with shipping, customs, or aviation logistics experience to work within a fast-paced aviation environment supporting the movement of aircraft parts and tooling worldwide.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring import/export shipments are processed efficiently, customs requirements are met, and all documentation and compliance activities are maintained accurately and on time.
Shipping and Customs Administrator (SCA) Key Responsibilities:
- Process customs clearance requests accurately to ensure timely delivery of aircraft parts and tooling
- Complete shipping administration tasks including C88 (SAD) filing and MSS data processing
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies between shipping instructions and customs documentation
- Liaise with shipping agents, freight forwarders, and couriers regarding shipment or paperwork issues
- Maintain accurate delivery dates and tracking information within internal systems
- Support HMRC compliance activities and ensure all legal shipping requirements are met
- Monitor and maintain records for IPR shipments entering and leaving the company
- Assist with general shipping and customs administration duties as required
- Support the wider Materials team where necessary
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience within shipping, customs, logistics, or freight administration
- Aviation industry or aircraft parts/tooling experience advantageous
- Strong understanding of:
- Incoterms
- HS/Tariff Codes
- CPCs
- PVA/Duties processes
- Dangerous Goods (DG) procedures
- Import/export shipping documentation
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong IT and administration skills
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Professional and confidential approach to work
