Streetworks Coordinator
📍 Location: Office-based in Hayes, Middlesex
About the Role
We are looking for a Streetworks Coordinator to join our team in a developmental role with strong career progression opportunities.
In this role, you will coordinate the permitting and planning of bus shelter installation works across the London highway network. You will act as the key link between site operations and London Highway Authorities, ensuring permits are processed accurately and efficiently.
Working closely with Transport for London (TfL) and local boroughs, you will support the delivery of essential transport infrastructure projects while developing specialist knowledge of bus stop and shelter installations.
This is a varied role involving planning, scheduling, permitting, and stakeholder coordination, working closely with installation teams, management, and design departments.
Streetworks Coordinator Key Responsibilities
Permitting & Compliance
- Manage the full permitting lifecycle using the Street Manager system.
- Ensure all works are authorised across the TfL Road Network and local borough highways.
- Carry out duties in line with New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) and the Traffic Management Act (TMA).
- Manage and resolve NRSWA inspections and defects to maintain compliance.
Planning & Works Management
- Process and manage work orders using internal Asset Management systems and IBM Maximo.
- Track and update the status of live works.
- Support installation teams with planning and coordination of scheduled works.
- Assist with Traffic Management Plan proposals in line with Chapter 8 guidelines.
- Manage bus stop and parking suspension applications to ensure works can proceed.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a key point of contact for TfL and local authorities regarding works, permits, and traffic management.
- Collaborate with installation and design teams to communicate project requirements effectively.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in a Streetworks or permitting role, ideally within the London highway network.
- Experience using Street Manager and strong digital literacy.
- Knowledge of NRSWA, Traffic Management Act (TMA), and inspection codes of practice.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive team player who takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
- A strong commitment to health and safety compliance.
Streetworks Coordinator Qualifications & Experience
- Experience coordinating streetworks activities in busy urban environments.
- Proficiency in Street Manager and works management systems (ideally IBM Maximo).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and data management.
