Working hours: Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 17:00
                                   Friday: 07:30 – 11:30 (early finish!)

Looking to launch your engineering career in a hands-on, high-impact environment? We’re looking for a motivated Junior Trainee Manufacturing Engineer to join our Planning & Engineering team at Woodside.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on military and commercial aircraft components, gaining real-world experience in manufacturing engineering, planning, and production support.

What the Trainee Manufacturing Engineer will be doing
You’ll play a key role in turning customer designs into manufacturable products. From interpreting technical drawings to creating job packs and coordinating materials, you’ll be involved at every stage of the production process. You’ll also work closely with engineers, managers, and shop floor teams to ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities for the Trainee Manufacturing Engineer include:

  • Translating customer drawings and specifications into manufacturing plans
  • Creating bills of materials, routings, and job packs
  • Supporting production with technical information and planning updates
  • Liaising with customers and internal teams to resolve engineering issues
  • Using MRP/ERP systems to manage jobs, times, and materials
  • Assisting with continuous improvement and quality processes

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree in engineering (preferred, not essential) or relevant experience
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in aerospace/manufacturing (experience is a bonus)
  • Familiarity with CAD (e.g. Catia V5) or MRP/ERP systems is advantageous
